Dating a Sagittarius man is pretty straightforward: he’s an easy-going guy who just wants to adventure and have a pleasant experience.
But there are some important things you should know about him so you can ensure that your dates together go well.
In this post, I’ll be covering the most important dos and don’ts to give you the best chance with a Sag guy. Read on!

1.) Be open for an adventure
The Sagittarius man is restless, spontaneous, and always on the hunt for something new and exciting to do.
To be satisfied in a relationship, he needs a lover who’s similar (or at least game enough to accommodate his sporadic whims). To catch his fancy you’ll need to be willing to get out of your comfort zone and try new things (and be enthusiastic about it, too).
Of course, this doesn’t mean you should let him push you into anything that you don’t want to. He likes a strong partner, after all. But it does mean you should do your best to be open to new experiences, even if they make you a bit uncomfortable. He wants to see that you’re flexible and always looking to grow.
Rest assured, he is a great man to go out on a limb with. Go be open to expansion and allow him to encourage you every step of the way.

2.) Showcase your intelligence
This is a guy known for physicality and lustfulness. He’s a fire sign, after all. But it’s actually intelligence and mental acuity that turn him on the most.
He’s deeply philosophical and prizes all forms of knowledge. He wants a partner who’s as knowledgeable as him, or close to it.
In the least, his partner must be intellectually inclined – with a strong desire to broaden their mind.
While dating, you should make him feel like he can talk to you about anything. Be ready to engage in any topic that he touches on. If you truly lack enough knowledge to contribute on a subject at least be engaged and encourage his sharing.

3.) Keep things light
The Sag man likes it when romance is a light affair. Even in serious relationships he rarely goes very deep or desires to merge totally, like a water sign might.
Because he’s wary of losing his freedom, relationships that feel emotionally heavy, stifling or consuming can feel entirely threatening to him. His independence is the most important thing to him, and he will lose interest if you signal that you’re trying to make things serious while still in the early stages of dating.
So when dating him, you want to focus on keeping things light and fun.
Don’t overcomplicate things, and don’t put pressure on him. Don’t talk about commitment, marriage, or meeting families early on. These topics are better left for him to initiate at his own pace. He will surely do this when he’s ready. Just be patient!
In a similar vein, avoid getting triggered by him and reacting strongly. He can be extra blunt sometimes, and it can hurt. But to attract him it is best if you can let any accidental insults roll off of you.
Remember, light and fun – not serious or difficult for him to deal with (sorry, sensitive signs!).

4.) Surprise him
Sagittarius is a mutable sign which means this guy loves novelty and unpredictability in all forms.
He won’t date someone for very long if they don’t excite him.
The best way to excite him is to keep him in suspense with calculated surprises.
One way you can do this is by alternating your temperament – be cool, calm, and under-expressed at some points, and outlandish, even a bit belligerent, at others. Variability is key.
Another strategy is to be intensely flirtatious on one occasion, to get him warmed up, and then become detached another. You don’t want to go too cold – you should still be a little coquettish.
The key is making him now have to work for your attention. This man loves a good chase and hates when things come too easy.
Above all, keep him on his toes and his brain ticking by making your changeable moods fun, unpredictable, and intriguing.
If you’re choosing the date locations, switch things up often and avoid going to the same place twice, if you can. Also, if frequenting restaurants together, try continually ordering something different or unusual.
I have a lot more information about how to keep him in suspense, plus dozens of other ways to attract him in my course on how to attract a Sagittarius man.
5.) Emphasize your independent side
One of the most important signals that you can send to a Sagittarius man is that you are strong and independent.
He needs to feel independent in all phases of his life, no matter if he’s in a relationship or not, and strongly prefers his partner to be the same.
By showing him how comfortable you are being on your own he’ll quickly respect you and will be able to relax around you. You can share this with him directly or through stories and your actions.
For example, you could show up to a bar early for a date, make friends with someone there, and introduce him to them when he arrives. Or you could take him to a date locale that you often go to by yourself. Anything that shows how comfortable you are doing your own thing.
Above all, show him that you’re relaxed, fun and that you don’t need him. Sag guys hate possessiveness, neediness, and jealousy in all forms. You must avoid displaying any of these traits.
Don’t worry about him thinking that you’re not interested because of your relaxed demeaning He’ll know if you are. He can easily differentiate between easygoing, non-attached flirtatiousness and needy energy.

Here’s a glimpse at one of the tips in my course on how to attract a Sagittarius man. It’s about the importance of maintaining a sense of mystery about you when dating a Sagittarius.
You must keep this guy on his toes if you want to build and maintain attraction. He tires quickly of people that are predictable. Routine and stability don’t excite him in the slightest, as shown by his notorious habit of moving quickly from one partner to the next at the first hint of boredom. The grass is often greener to a Sagittarian.
It can be a challenge, then, to maintain this man’s interest while dating.
One of the best ways to combat his finicky love nature is to keep him constantly curious about you by enveloping yourself in mystery. You do this by revealing yourself to him very slowly in a captivating manner.

Of course, you can and should be playful and engaging. But you’ll want to do it with a hint of aloofness and nonchalance. Like you always have something hidden up your sleeve.
One strategy is to display contradictory sides to your nature. This makes you seem complex and will be sure to excite him. Drop small snippets about yourself, allude to the novel and exciting experiences you’ve had, but don’t be too specific.
Constantly dressing differently also creates the desired effect. But be sure to remain stylish and natural-looking (he’s not fond of heavy make-up).
You want to represent something he cannot grasp or comprehend, and he has a fondness (you might say, weakness) for puzzles.
